• A new chip-enabled national ID card is mandatory (driver’s licenses are not accepted).
• The chip on the ID card must not be cracked or damaged.
• An international departure fee of 1,250 TRY is mandatory for everyone aged 7 and above.
• Even newborn babies must have an ID card with a photo.
• Guests who have a passport are advised to carry it with them.
According to a decision by the Georgian government, as of January 1, 2026, travel health insurance is mandatory for all foreign visitors entering Georgia.
• Day visitors who enter and exit Georgia on the same day without overnight stay are exempt.
• Anyone staying more than 24 hours or having hotel/house accommodation must obtain insurance.
• The mandatory travel health insurance must cover emergency medical care and accident-related expenses during the stay in Georgia.
• Depending on package type and duration, insurance costs start from approximately 3 EUR (or equivalent in Georgian Lari).
